The play of now: Mindfulness in Motion
27 september 2020 @ 13:30 – 21:00
WG-Terrein, Ketelhuisplein 41, Amsterdam
For anyone who wants to find out about the practice of mindfulness & meditation, based on easy physical exercises.
We often associate meditation and mindfulness with calm and stillness, with sitting on a meditation cushion, or with quiet, inner observation. How can we be mindful within the rush of everyday life, in the busyness of work, in interactions – in speed, with no attempt to ‘slow down’ life? – With interactive, embodied (distanced) exercises from movement improvisation we will explore the transition between inner attention and the outer activity of life, as it is, and discover more trust and joy in the process. No experience of movement or improvisation is required.
Jayachitta enjoys using the practice of body-based methods, like improvisation, to help deepen the experience of meditation and attending to the mind. She lives in Berlin and was ordained in the Triratna Buddhist Order thirty years ago.
